loophole

one_tuesday_in_may we've exposed our kids at a very early age to the world of antiquing. our four year old refers to our trips as treasure hunts - we pile into the car, pack some snacks, and hope for long naps. yesterday we went on a procurement day-trip together along the back roads of virginia. our baby boy is easy and is happy to be carried as we peruse antiques and by now our daughter definitely knows the drill - "don't touch anything".  but yesterday she found a loophole. she picked up a long blade of grass outside the shop so that she could still "touch" things, but with the grass. "see, i'm not touching it". hmm, we're in trouble.
