the scout recently twittered about visiting a new restaurant called “the loading dock” at 170 tillary in brooklyn. 170 tillary was the building stu and i lived in while in brooklyn. the freight elevators were the same ones i used to haul groceries and little holly in.
so cool to see the loading dock transformed to this sweet space which we’ve heard serves some amazing tacos.

We spent our Sunday in DC visiting the Georgetown Flea Market and Eastern Market. Heard about this place from our friend Christina and had every intention of stopping here and getting lunch after the markets but were sidetracked by a thunderstorm + two kids who wanted ice cream instead. But hopefully another Sunday…

i’ve never tried babycakes cupcakes but have heard from some friends about how delicious they are. this video makes me love this place more (and also makes me feel like dancing and stuffing my face with a cupcake.) we are planning to sell at the brooklyn flea again this summer and we’re definitely going to make babycakes a must-eat-at destination. – janet
It’s a bit crazy, but we keep an empty carton of this NY-based ice cream called “5 Boroughs” (which we used to eat religiously when we lived in the city) on our desk windowsill and look at it everyday and think…how can we get this here? Well, we just checked their site and had to share the good news that you can now order it online, pints or a three gallon tub. “Janet! Take the fish fingers out of the freezer, time to make room.” It’s the best damn ice cream in the world! Hands-down. Soho is definitely our favorite flavor, but the NYPB sounds good too (but this came out after we moved). And the packaging is perfect.
