Beacon and Esmond Mills Blankets
Vintage original 1920s-40s "camp" blankets manufactured by the Beacon Manufacturing Company and Esmond Mills. Blankets are all-cotton, also called "wool nap" cotton as the material was felted to give it the warmth of wool to trap warm air. These blankets were an innovation in the late 19th century, their designs originally copied Navajo hand weavings. Blankets curated by Laura Fisher of Fisher Heritage - a long-time friend and expert in the field.
