Terrarium of the Future…Today!

We’ve had this old space-aged terrarium in our basement since we moved and before that it was in storage in our apt in brooklyn, but it’s finally found a place in one of our home offices (ex-dining room). The plastic’s a bit cloudy, but overall it cleaned up really well. We had our nephew over a few weeks back and he did an amazing landscaping job, even adding the vintage Matchbox jeep + camper to the desert scene. There’s also a mini plastic cow in there which was Holly’s addition.

The 50′s kids chairs in the background are going to be part of an upcoming Kids Chairs collection that will be up in the shop in a few weeks.

    ohmygosh, that is amazing looking!
I just bought myself a terrarium from madebymavis on etsy and I love it.
The landscaping in this one is pretty great!

You will be surprised but if you put a little English Ivy into your Terr in a year or so the plastic will clear a bit. Ivy is one of the plants Nasa puts on the shuttles. It has amazing effects on the air and plastics. Try it!

Oh my, I used to have one of those way back in the 70′s (around 1977ish). We lived in Spain at the time and used to keep chameleons in it. We used to catch them in the woods behind our house and put them in there.

oh my gosh! I HAD THAT as a kid! We kept a snake ( a black racer) in it for a while before I couldn’t stand the thought of him living in a bubble and we set him free in our back yard…. Such a vivid memory..
