Monday, August 18th, 2008
We haven’t had to think about the “back to school” thing for quite some time, but now with a toddler and the shop we seem to be immersed in it. We’ve been fitting in some really great procurement trips for the shop and will be adding about 40 or so new/vintage items tonight, so please take a look around.
Summer treats.
Friday, August 15th, 2008
This summer I’ve become obsessed with frozen yogurt from Iceberry. (It’s the equivalent we have here to Pinkberry). My favorite is the Honeydew flavor and I got Holly and her cousins hooked too. Stu is more of an ice cream lover. I crave iceberry as a summertime treat – especially to cool off on a humid east coast day.
Other summertime favorites of ours are:
-an ice cold Horchata drink- a yummy latin american drink made of made of ground cinnamon, almond, and rice milk.
-ice cream from Giffords in Bethesda, MD
-frozen bubble drinks – we go to this place called Song Que – a vietnamese deli that makes the BEST ones – taro, avocado or watermelon are our favorite flavors.
Enjoy the weekend!
Watch Out Boy She’ll Chew You Up!
Thursday, August 14th, 2008Holly has a lot of nicknames. The one I usually use is J.J., but another popular one is “Halls”. Otis is still the new guy, but nicknames are coming in from all angles. The most common one around the house so far is “Oats”.
Which brings us to our revelation. The other day, we were driving in the car and “Maneater” by Hall and Oates came on. Oh…My…God! We must have subconsciously named our kids after Hall & Oates…Well, not really, but it’s still an awesome coincidence. Our friend Mike suggested that we dress them as Hall & Oates for Halloween this year…I just hope Otis’ mustache comes in in-time.
Music for a sunny day.

Thursday, August 7th, 2008
Flying in soon are these four amazing Bird Prints all the way from Mexico. We wrote about Gennine’s amazing home awhile back on our blog. We really fell in love with her lovely bird prints and asked her to do an exclusive set for Three Potato Four. They will be available in our shop the next coming week.
Little Old Man

Today…
- was Otis’ expected due date – he came 3 weeks early.
- the three of us (me+holly+otis) enjoyed a lazy afternoon nap.
- we’re having fish for dinner.
- I took this picture of Otis and I think he looks like a little old man.
- Stu was busy all day packing up orders.
- we promised Holly we would go out for ice cream.
*Three Potato Four*
Monday, August 4th, 2008
All of us (except Otis, thank goodness) were hit with a nasty summer cold. I think something is going around. We’re just coming out of the haze and feeling a little better. Today we all ventured out and brought Otis to his 2 week doctor’s visit. The four of us fit pretty snugly now in our station wagon. Both Holly and Otis fell asleep on the way there and Stu and I looked back at them and were just amazed that we are now a family of four. When we started this shop and named it Three Potato Four, we really just loved the playful rhyme but ironically it kind of defines how our little family has grown into four.
p.s. be sure to see this week’s shop update for many interesting finds… (like many of these vintage enamel french letter/number signs)
