Some scenes from our weekend. We took a beautiful and long drive up to Pennsylvania on Saturday. Discovered this a place called Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum. It was closed by the time we found it, but Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum looks crazy fun! According to his website, his collection grew so extensive his wife made him open a museum. It says Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum is one of the largest and most unique collections of elephants in the world.

just wanted to say thank you to all the bloggers out there who have written about our little shop these past two weeks. we couldn’t be happier about the response and the warm welcome we’ve received!
we’re trying to do at least one big inventory update to the shop each week. we’ll let everyone know what day this will be through the mailing list and this blog.
enjoy your weekend!
Hello
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007
Today we’re getting ready for a big update for Thursday. Almost fifty items will be added to the shop. We will also have a new homepage image up, it is an homage to fall. (Although today it still feels like summertime, so hot almost 90 degrees outside!)
We’ve started our mailing list, which you can sign up for by entering your email in the box located at the bottom of the site. So please join so we can let you know what’s going on with our shop.
Subway Musician
Monday, September 24th, 2007
Found this photo Stu took of us listening to a musician play his harmonica while we waited on the subway platform. I think it was from almost a year ago… I like how mesmerized we are.
In shop news, we are going to carry lots more new things in the coming weeks. Here’s a sneak peek of what new things we will have to offer soon. (as well as tons more vintage finds)
Funland
Friday, September 21st, 2007
On our summer vacation we rented a little beach house a block from the beach. We were a block away also from an old arcade with rides and games called Funland. It’s a place where all the signage, rides and games feel like they are stuck in time. I think that’s what I love about the beach & boardwalks. It was there that Holly also developed a collection of her own, tickets. She wanted to save all of them and today I found a bunch in one of her pockets (I am behind on my laundry). Happy Weekend!
Worker Bees
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007
Stu and I have been busy taking photos & writing descriptions for a big update. We’re adding a lot more vintage items by tomorrow afternoon (sorry the stock is so low, it’s going fast!). But look out for a big update on Thursday.
In the meantime, here’s a photo of holly imitating her momma & daddy. She’s a mac girl and she knows how to use a mouse. Scary.
Autumn in New York
Tuesday, September 18th, 2007
It’s definitely Fall now. I am missing new york today. Autumn in new york is my favorite time. But we’re planning an apple picking trip soon, which Holly will probably love.
This morning I was searching through my stamp collection and found this apple stamp that Stu got me for my birthday one year. I’ve never used it but thought it would be perfect to stamp on little notes to our customers.
We are adding more products everyday since a lot of our stock is selling. Yay! We also placed a new order with our vendor Shinzi Katoh in Japan and are excited about the new items we’ve selected for the shop. Also, we’ve gotten some feedback of possibly starting a mailing list, which we’re going to start so we can notify everyone of new additions to the shop.
Wooden Creatures
Sunday, September 16th, 2007
I have to say goodbye to these little guys tomorrow, when we ship them out to their new lucky owners. They are two of my favorites in the shop. Stu and I were saying that it feels like we have owned all things in our shop even though they pass through our hands for a brief time.
Having them on our stock room shelves, you get used to seeing them around. I’m too sentimental, Stu would tell me to toughen up, but he is sleeping now. Tired from packing up some orders.
Here we go…
Saturday, September 15th, 2007Today we went live, yay! We still have a lot of new/vintage stuff that we will be putting up for the launch over the next few days, so stay tuned. Our wrapping paper and custom packing tape just came in and it’s really cute. Can’t wait for someone to order a gift for someone, so I can wrap something up in it.
Here’s a really nice review and our very first press by fellow blogger sfgirlbybay
So, here goes. We’re ready for this new adventure…
Anticipation
Sunday, September 9th, 2007
We’re so excited about our shop! It’s almost ready to go live. This weekend we scored an awesome green desk from a neighbor that I convinced Stu to take for our workroom. There’s nothing fancy about it, but i loved that it was painted this really nice green. We have also been working on something fun for our shop called an Experimental Cacti. Stu made one today. It turned out awesome, we’re working with an amazing illustrator for the diagrams. Look out for the launch of our shop next week!
